Writing examination is the most scared and fearful experience of students from all age groups. Beginning from initial years of school age to preparing for competitive examinations, students have expressed sharing symptoms of anxiety, fear, hopelessness, feeling of in capability, depression and most common one is losing self confidence. Thus, it is important to identify and manage these signs and symptoms in order to maintain healthy mind and body.
It is important to instil in the minds of students that examinations are not the end of our world. Stressing and exaggerating about it will only make the matter worse. Instead, RELAX. As in the words of Nelson Mandela ‘It always seems impossible until it’s done. So STAY POSITIVE, WORK HARD, and Make it Happen.
Five Tips to make Examination a celebrating experience:
- Reframe the term ‘Examinations’ as An ‘Opportunity’ – our perceptions matter the most and they determines our consequent actions as well. The moment we start perceiving examinations as an opportunity to move ahead in our career a sense of achievement is instilled; this drives our actions positively with more zeal and energy.
- Preparation is the only shortcut: A sincere preparation, revision and effort is the only way to cross the bridge. Thus, focus on the syllabus, content, sample papers and divide your tasks objectively.
- Focus on conceptual clarity: while preparing and revising make sure that conceptual clarity is there, without understanding the concept the brain rejects the information and keeps it only in the short term memory. Thus, in order to direct the information studied towards the long term memory, make sure the information is understandable and relatable.
- Time Management: proper allocation of tasks and time is the key to qualifying any competitive examination. Prioritise, delegate, delete and divide your tasks as per your most efficient study hours. Always, crosscheck tasks you have completed and list the tasks which are to be done next. A proper planning will enable you to achieve your goals successfully.
- Relax Smile and Be Fearless: organise your thoughts and be prepared to walk in the most awaited event. Imagine your happiness after excelling in the examination, feel it and internalise it. This energy and positivity will impart strength and eradicate the slightest of fear of failure. Thus, Go bang on, and conquer your AIM.
Best of Luck!!!
